The yurt is on the mainland of Orkney so is within easy reach of the Neolithic World Heritage centre, including such sites as Skara Brae, Maes Howe and the Ring of Brodgar – the yurt itself is mere minutes from the Iron Age Broch of Gurness, one of the most spectacularly preserved brochs in Scotland. As a professional archaeologist, the owner can provide archaeological tours when requested. For those that are interested in scuba diving, Scapa Flow is a world-renowned dive site and there are a number of diving schools and dive day-boats which the owner could recommend or put them in touch with. Bird-watchers, hikers and explorers will also find plenty to interest them on these islands.
